Ingleton Waterfalls Trail has launched its new 'Falls Refreshment Centre', thanks to a funding grant from Yorkshire Forward. The newly opened Centre aims to improve the visitor experience along the unique four and a half mile circular walk. Welcome to Yorkshire is supporting the venture as the Trail celebrates its 125th year of Yorkshire heritage.
Peter Worthington, director of Ingleton Scenery Company said: "In recent years, we have undertaken an extensive programme of investment that constantly improves the experience visitors can expect from such an unspoilt Yorkshire attraction. This latest development enables us to further cater for the refreshment needs of our visitors as they make their way along the breathtaking trail. The new Centre complements the Falls Café that was opened in 2005 and is located at the start of the Trail. Other improvements have included the resurfacing of paths and the upgrading of car parking facilities."
The new 'Falls Refreshment Centre' is located halfway along the trail at Beezley, offering stunning views as far as Ingleborough. It will sell drinks, snacks and light refreshments including local ice cream and hot and cold sandwiches using local produce.
Andy Tordoff, Yorkshire Forward's Assistant Director for Environment (Rural Renaissance and Visitor Economy) attended the launch and said: "We need to continue to invest in our heritage and attract visitors to our region. Yorkshire Forward is therefore delighted to offer support through the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE) to improve one of Yorkshire's unique attractions that is steeped in history. The region offers world class destinations and Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is one of many fine examples that encapsulate Yorkshire's beauty. It offers visitors stunning scenery and abundant opportunities to view seasonal landscapes throughout the year."
Gary Verity, Welcome to Yorkshire's chief executive has endorsed the improvements at Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. He commented: "Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is undoubtedly one of the Yorkshire Dales' many treasures and an attractive tourism hotspot. We are delighted to support the launch and urge visitors to experience the Trail that offers some of the most stunning waterfall and woodland scenery in England."
Ingleton Waterfalls Trail has also been given a brand overhaul through Yorkshire-based Osmosis Brand Communications. New branding, that reflects the essence of what the attraction represents, can be seen across all promotional materials.
