Ingleton Waterfall Trail Fell Race 2017
Glorious evening sunshine was the setting for this year’s annual fell race where 68 runners arrived ready to challenge the 5 mile route that would take them through the famous Ingleton waterfalls passing Thornton Force before beginning the 800ft climb which would lead them to a descent into Ingleton Village basked in the sun set.
Among the 2017 competitors were representatives from running clubs such as the Settle Harriers, Trawden Athletic Club, Barlick Fell Runners, Skipton Running Club and Helm Hill.
Local Runner Paul Webb from Settle Harriers got off to a strong start and kept his pace finishing the fell victorious with a time of 30 minutes and 48 seconds.
Nick Treitl finished a close second to Paul with a time of 30 minutes 54 seconds. Representing Barlick Fell Runners.
The winner of the ladies fell was Amie McAvoy from Garstang with a brilliant time of 39 minutes and a single second.
The first local lady to the finish was Beth Evans from Bentham with a fantastic time of 44 minutes and 49 seconds.
